At Help Your Practice, we certainly believe that self-confidence is the true basis of business success.

We can talk all day about business knowledge and the technical skills it takes to be a successful massage therapist.

However, the bottom line is if you do not believe in yourself then you are finished before you even begin.

There is no way to sugar coat the issue. Confident massage therapists have an inner sense that no matter what happens they are up to the task.

How Can You Build These Self-Confident Behaviors?

Ah, we are here to give you a sneak peak at what you can do to make your confidence levels soar! Here are five steps to boost your own self-confidence.

1.) Feel good physically

2.) Take responsibility for your actions (physical/mental)

3.) See your weaknesses and turn them into strengths

4.) Remind yourself that you have paid your dues

5.) See and recognize what you are doing RIGHT

Massage Marketing Monthly Tip

This month we are going to talk about one of the most exciting marketing strategies, stimulating word of mouth advertising or marketing.

Now word of mouth is probably the most effective form of advertising you could do for your massage business.  Yet many therapists fail to do it effectively.

In fact, most therapists just accept whatever word of mouth happens to fall their way.  And that’s a shame because word of mouth advertising can be an extremely powerful marketing weapon — if you know how to use it correctly.

Why word of mouth advertising is so powerful…

The truth is, nothing you could ever say about your massage business is as credible or has as much impact as the words of someone who has already used your professional services.

After all, if you say you give the greatest massage therapy in your area… it could be considered being boastful. But if a delighted client of yours says it, then it could be considered credible.

How do you promote more word of mouth?

Many marketing experts suggest finding ways to do your massage business so well and uniquely that people can not resist telling lots of other people about you.  The truth is, that’s only part of the answer.

You want to do the obvious things that many clients would expect a professional massage therapist would do — like doing courtesy reminder calls the day before their appointment.

Some people might consider reminder calls to be good customer service… and they would be right and wrong.

You see, word of mouth advertising isn’t just being unique and having great customer service.

It’s much more than it.

Being uniquely special, offering great customer service adds the right fuel for word of mouth.

So does using a referral system with your clients, to encourage word of mouth referrals.

Or staging special events like customer appreciation days.

Or focusing on getting the little details of your client’s experience just right.

Each one of these topics are quite extensive and a separate book could be devoted to each one.  In our massage marketing manual, Help Your MASSAGE Practice, Eric and I reveal many of our tricks of the trade for generating positive word of mouth advertising.

The bottom line is, don’t just settle for whatever word of mouth advertising might drift your way.  Take charge and actively create your own massive word of mouth advertising river!
